Giving Back to the Community This Christmas
As we step into the festive season, at Melton Building Society we are reaching out to support our local community in a meaningful way. We wanted to make a that represented donation on behalf of each of our 163 employees, that would give something back to each of the communities our five branch locations serve. So, we’ve donated £350, a total of £1,750 to a different foodbank in each of our 5 branch locations, reaffirming our commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.
The foodbanks we are donating to are, Storehouse Melton, Grantham Foodbank, Rutland Foodbank, Stamford & Oundle Foodbank, and Bourne Foodbank, which are lifelines for many individuals and families facing tough times not just at Christmas, but all year round.
Siggy Atheron from Storehouse Melton shared details about how the donation would help towards their important work this Christmas: “We’ve seen a decrease in donations recently as people struggle with rising living costs, so we’re very grateful for Melton Building Society’s donation. Every penny we raise goes towards not just food, but also clothing, bathing facilities, baby equipment, and a warm and safe place for those in need. At Storehouse Melton, we care for the whole person, not just their stomachs, so every penny counts.”
Dorothy Gaughan of The Grantham Foodbank said, “The donation is gratefully received, especially during the Christmas season. It will help us stock up our essentials of tinned items like soup, ensuring we’re ready to support those in need during these colder months.”

All our local foodbanks do amazing work to ensure nobody has to go without the basics, we’re proud to support them.
